Black Mountain, located 15 miles from Asheville on the eastern edge of Buncombe County, is a quintessential small town, complete with a charming & walkable downtown, a thriving arts & crafts scene, & an array of unique shops & eateries. Enjoy shopping & choose your own place to lunch. Meal not included. Heavy walking.
Wilkes Heritage Museum

The Wilkes Heritage Museum, Inc. was established in 1968. The museum encompasses The Old Wilkes County Jail, restored to its original 1860 appearance as well as the 1779 home of Captain Robert Cleveland, the late 19th century Finley Law Office, and the 1902 Wilkes County Courthouse. Enjoy a tour of the museum and then choose from local eateries for lunch. Meal not included. Heavy walking.
Visit Fancy Gap, VA

Let's take a drive north to Fancy Gap, VA! Our first stop will be the popular Fancy Gap Pottery & Fabric Outlet where you'll find pottery, fabric, home décor, and more! After shopping, we'll drop by the Pit Stop Pasta & Grill to grab our lunch to go (you may also bring your own packed lunch). With our grub in tow, we'll head to the Blue Ridge Music Center to enjoy a picnic lunch and listen to their Midday Mountain Music jam session. If you play the fiddle, banjo, or guitar, you can even join in! The music center also has a museum and gift shop you may visit. Lunch not included. Moderate walking.
Replacements Ltd. & Reynolda House

Replacements Ltd. is the world's largest retailer of china, crystal, & silverware. We'll visit the showroom and take a guided tour of their facility. After visiting Replacements Ltd., we'll lunch at Darryl's Wood Fired Grill. Our last stop will be a tour of the historic Reynolda House Museum of American Art. Completed in 1917, Reynolda House Museum of American Art was originally the home of Katharine Smith & R.J. Reynolds, founder of the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Lunch not included. Taste of Country Tour

We'll spend the morning & early afternoon visiting local country markets in Mooresville, Mt. Ulla, China Grove, & Salisbury. At each stop, we'll enjoy a sample of their local goods. We'll fit in a light breakfast, a mid-morning snack, & an appetizer all before lunch at the China Grove Family Restaurant. We'll even take a guided tour of some hydroponic gardens!
